Banking Practice and Practices in USA - Experience with the Documentary Credits and Standby Letters of Credit, issues, debates

This seminar will be of benefit to professionals working in bank´s trade finance departments working with documentary credits and standby letters of credit. Bank and commercial lawyers will gain an insight into practices in documentary credits and standbys with focus on USA experience. The seminar will be also very valuable to business people active in export and trade finance.

Přednášející:
 
Donald Smith – President of Global Trade Advisory, Ltd., global trade finance consulting company, formerly Vice President for Client Services at Norman Technologies, Trade IT consulting firm. Mr. Smith began his banking career in 1973 with Central Fidelity Bank. He held positions as Head of International Operations for First Union National Bank of North Carolina, International division Executive for TrustCorp Bank, Ohio and Vice President, Global Trade Product Management in Citibank, N.A. He has served as Chairman of the Banking Committee of USA council for International Business (USCIB) from 1998 to 2009, he is currently Chair of the drafting group for ICC´s Uniform Rules for Forfaiting, and is also the Senior Project Manager for the ICC Trade Finance Registry Project (Basel III).
