Magdalena Pfeiffer is Vice-Dean for International Relations at the Faculty of Law, Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic and Associate Professor for Private International Law and International Commercial Law. She graduated from the Philosophical Faculty of Charles University in 1990 and from the Law Faculty of Charles University in 2006. She joined the Law Faculty of Charles University as an internal Ph.D. candidate in 2006 (Ph.D. thesis: „Habitual residence in Private International Law“) and has been a lecturer in Private International Law and International Commercial Law since 2009. Following her habilitation („Law applicable to cross-border succession relations“), she was appointed Associate Professor in 2018. She is a member of the Czech Society for International Law.

Marek Prochazka is a founding Partner of PRK Partners specialising in corporate governance and dispute resolution (arbitration, mediation). Marek was educated in Switzerland and the United States before practicing in the Czech Republic. After graduating from the University of Bern, he worked in the Department of Banking Law in the university’s law faculty. Afterwards, he obtained a Master’s degree (LL.M.) from Georgetown University Law Center, in Washington D.C. Marek is an experienced lawyer with a longstanding practice, and his approach to resolving complex cases integrates various fields of law and other disciplines. Most of his cases involve international elements. Marek is the president of the Chamber of Commerce Switzerland – Czech Republic and a member of the Board of Directors of the Aspen Institute Central Europe o.p.s. He is fluent in English, German, Czech and French. He is an attorney at law of the Czech Bar Association, and he is also admitted in Switzerland, where he still practices on behalf of some Czech clients. Marek has been recommended as a leading practitioner in banking, finance and capital markets, litigation and arbitration and corporate governance by the following publications: Chambers Global, Chambers Europe, International Financial Law Review and IRL Expert Guides, European Legal Experts, Legal 500 and Best Lawyers.

Jan Brodec is a partner of BRODEC & PARTNERS, attorneys-at-law, and an associate professor at the Commercial Law Department of Charles University Faculty of Law (field of specialisation - private international law and international commercial law). Jan Brodec is one of the leading lawyers and arbitrators in the Czech Republic. He has extensive experience with arbitrating Czech and international cases under Czech arbitration rules and ICC, DIS and UNCITRAL arbitration rules. He also arbitrates sports law cases as a member of the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne (CAS) and member of the Council of Arbitrators of Football Association of the Czech Republic. Jan Brodec is sought out as an expert on international commercial law, arbitration, international insolvency law and sports law. He is also Court Appointed Expert in matters related to foreign law (field of specialization - international commercial law, arbitration and private international law). Jan Brodec is also the author or co-author of many publications, such as Commentary on the private international law or publication International commercial law. Jan Brodec graduated from the Law Faculty of the Charles University in Prague, Universität Konstanz, Juristische Fakultät and Faculty of Social Science of the Charles University in Prague.
